The Agricultural Policy Dialogue Germany – South East Europe (APD SEE) supports the Western Balkan countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia) as well as the Republic of Moldova in strengthening their agricultural, forestry and food systems and advancing their alignment with EU standards. The focus of Phase 2 is on EU approximation, climate adaptation, sustainable forest management, regional cooperation, and competitiveness in agriculture and forestry. The project is an advisory and policy dialogue initiative within the Bilateral Cooperation Programme (BKP) of the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture and Regional Identity (BMLEH) and is implemented by IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH.

At the same time, APD SEE promotes deeper regional cooperation by professionalizing collaboration formats and creating channels for exchange with the EU. By strengthening planning, communication and monitoring systems, the project aims to increase strategic steering, visibility, accountability and learning across the dialogue processes and partner institutions.

Dr. Sophia Lüttringhaus contributes to APD SEE as Key Expert for Crop Production. In this role she contributes her expertise in sustainable and climate-resilient crop systems, bringing a strong focus on intersectional approaches and inclusive policy design. Her responsibilities include advising on climate-smart and resilient crop production strategies, supporting innovation and knowledge exchange, contributing to regional knowledge and innovation networks and mainstreaming gender and inclusion in technical dialogues.
