The ELENI project aims to develop a comprehensive guide for establishing efficient and networked marketing structures for locally produced organic fruit in the German state of Saxony. The project was commissioned by the State Office for Environment, Agriculture, and Geology (LfULG) and is being carried out in close cooperation with various stakeholders in the value chain. It includes the following work packages:

  • Market and Needs Analysis: Examination of (organic) fruit production in Saxony, including market conditions and comparison with other growing regions.

  • Networking and Marketing Models: Development of two models (decentralized: subscription fruit box, centralized: label) for marketing and networking, taking into account digital possibilities and local value chains.

  • Economic and Potential Analysis: Analysis of cost structure, revenue forecasts, and profitability of the proposed marketing models, as well as risk assessments and benefit analyses.

  • Sustainability Analysis: Examination and comparison of the ecological and social impacts of the marketing strategies, including resource consumption and food quality.

The project is running from August 2024 - December 2025. All reports will be published here.
